What this means for your floor
Finish-floor reconstruction should proceed only after the water source is controlled and the site and substrate are ready for flooring. Water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation and sewage cleanup belong with qualified mitigation or environmental providers; Final Floors handles flooring assessment, flooring-related subfloor work, repair, refinishing, replacement and putback within its scope.
What can change the recommendation?
Source controlConfirm that the cause of the water event has been addressed by the appropriate provider. Replacing flooring does not correct an unresolved leak.
Mitigation statusObtain the available mitigation or remediation handoff and identify what remains unresolved. Final Floors' flooring scope is separate from extraction, drying and cleanup.
Moisture readingsRetain relevant measurements, locations and test methods. Assess the readings against the selected flooring system rather than a universal moisture threshold.
Rebuild scopeSeparate retained flooring, demolition, substrate work, replacement material and transitions. Clarify elective upgrades and exclusions before approving the flooring estimate.
